Biography
My name is Wanderley. In Portuguese, the letter 'W' sounds like the letter 'V' in English. The ending syllable 'ley' in 'Wanderley' sounds like 'lay' in English. According to the level of difficulty in pronouncing my name, people find it easier to call me Wander (Vander) or Junior. I am a Brazilian software developer, focused in .NET applications. I have experience predominately with C# and ASP.NET MVC, WebForms, and WinForms.
My first contact with computers was in the late 1980s, with Basic, Lotus 123 and computing fundamentals.
In the beginning of 1990s I was more into computer graphics with Photoshop and CorelDRAW software. During that time I started technical high school education when I got in contact with my first algorithms programming languages like Turbo Pascal, DBase and Cobol under MS-DOS operating system.
In 1993 I started my University education with computing fundamentals, and again with Pascal, Cobol and some new software like Windows for Workgroups 3.11 under Novell, Word, Excel, Linux, PowerBuilder and Oracle.
At that time HTML was not part my course content but I used to play around some source code from Adobe website and other sites with Netscape browser.
My professional experience started late 1990s with Visual Basic, "Classic" ASP, and HTML using PC-AT 386 and PC-AT 486 like so:
I came a long way and I am still working with software development until now with .NET applications. I still keep interest by learning and practicing other programming languages and software. From Mainframes, Downsizing and Client-Server era, I am now living in the Cloud computing age. Are the AI, Machine Learning and Quantum computing the next steps in our human journey? ;-)
